Flying has always been more than just a hobby—it’s been a passion. As a private pilot, a commercial pilot, a flight instructor, and the current president of COPA, I’ve had the privilege of living my dream in the skies. This journey, full of hard work, challenges, and unforgettable experiences, has shaped me into who I am today. Let me share how I got here and what’s next in my aviation adventure.
Becoming a private pilot was the first big step in my aviation journey. The thrill of controlling an aircraft, navigating through the skies, and the satisfaction of mastering new skills kept me motivated. After earning my private pilot certificate, I realized I wasn’t done yet. The commercial pilot route challenged me in new ways—hours of flight training, learning to master various maneuvers and refining my skills in complex flight environments. But it was all worth it when I passed the checkride and earned my commercial pilot certificate. Eventually, I became a flight instructor.
Becoming a flight instructor wasn’t just about sharing my knowledge of aviation—it was about inspiring the next generation of aviators. The joy of watching students transform into confident, skilled pilots is unlike anything else. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about helping someone else experience the same excitement I felt when I first took the controls. Whether it’s helping them master a new maneuver or guiding them through a challenging approach, being an instructor has continuously sharpened my own flying skills.
One of the best decisions I made in my flying career was choosing to fly the Cirrus. This aircraft has quickly become my dream machine. With its advanced avionics, performance, and safety features—like the CAPS system—it offers a flying experience that’s both thrilling and reassuring. Whether I’m teaching students or flying solo, the Cirrus provides a level of confidence that lets me focus on enjoying the flight and continually improving my skills.
As President of COPA, I have the honor of leading an incredible group of pilots and aviation enthusiasts. COPA is dedicated to fostering a community of Cirrus owners and pilots who support each other and share a love for flying. My vision for the organization is simple: to continue growing our community, offer valuable resources for pilots, and help make better, safer pilots. There’s so much we can accomplish when we come together—and I’m proud to be a part of that process.
My aviation journey has been one of growth, excitement, and a never-ending thirst for learning. From my first solo flight to flying the Cirrus and teaching others, each step has reinforced my love for aviation. I’m excited for what’s next—whether it’s continuing to inspire others as a flight instructor, flying higher as a commercial pilot, or advancing COPA’s mission. If you’re on your own aviation path, know that every milestone, big or small, is part of your unique journey. Keep flying, keep learning, and most importantly, keep dreaming.
